Unlike conventional silk production, Matka Silk is crafted without harming silkworms. This sustainable approach ensures the continuity of their life cycle, allowing them to evolve into the moths they are meant to be and to emerge from a small hole in their cocoons naturally. What is left behind are delicate, broken threads of silk that are woven in the open air by village women in India.  This material forms the foundation of our exquisite micro collection.
